Week 77: My fam is at Disneyland today

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm going to start this email off with a story... Once upon a time I told everyone at the beginning of my mission that I was going to go home a transfer early so that I could go to Disneyland with my family. Haha as if you couldn't already tell, that did not happen. As much #fomo as I have right now lol, honestly there is no place I would rather be. This is my only opportunity to serve the Lord and pretty quickly on my mission I figured out how special this time is. And REALLY I can go to Disneyland any time I want pretty soon, but this is my only time to serve a mission as a young adult. Anyway thanks for listening to my Ted talk, now I'll tell you about my week too I guess:

Things to know :
- Went on exchanges this weekkk! Went with good ol' Sis Lundy and it was so good to be back together :,) Love my Big Baller. Even when she gets me to go on a run.
- Went to our ward trunk or treat for dinner and had some friends come so that was cool and lots of fun! We also had friends come to church too so thats always good
- Also had a Halloween party at our members house for p-day todayyy it was so fun. We carved pumpkins, wore our costumes, and ate good food. Sister Peterson and I dressed up as "Tired" for Halloween. Get it? Because we wore pajamas? And we are wearing Toyota sweatshirts? And we've worked really hard on our missions? Haha or someone said we look like salesman too so whatever floats your boat. Missionaries = salesman.
- We heard a rumor that lunches/gathering during the week were getting banned so we went to Jeffies for a final hurrah hahaha.
- We had mission zone conference on Wednesday and it was pretty good! Even with all the rule changes. Honestly they don't even phase me anymore haha.
- WE HIT 50 BAPTISMS THIS MONTH AS A MISSION (technically 52) which was amazing. President has been trying to get us to have 50 in one month since I started my mission! So it was super cool to have it happen finally. Felt honored to have 3
- My trainer texted me this yesterday: "1 month exactly" It's getting weird haha...
- Found out half the mission is coming to the temple with me on my departing day... not sure how I feel about it but what can you do haha (Its not actually half the mission, just the whole transfer after me). Should be an adventure tho to have like 40 missionaries together in a session haha.

Stories of the week :
- Hahahaha on exchanges we had the weirdest interaction ever. This man named Jason walks out of his house as we are walking by and just as we turn to talk to him he says to Sister Lundell: "Oh my gosh you look exactly like my friend Allison! Are you a Taurus?! Born in April or May?!". And she's like "Uhhh yeah I was born in May" and he's like "Mm yes exactly what I thought. The 20th?". "And she was like "... yeah...". Hahaha what in the psychic reading is going on I told him I was also a Taurus and he said that would make sense because Taurus woman are always beautiful. Haha I was like uhhh anyways creepo. But he turned out to be interested in the gospel actually?!?! Or maybe he just took the book so he could talk to us longer lol. Sometimes I really don't know anymore. But you know what? #everyonedeservesachance! We taught him about the Book of Mormon and modern day prophets and he thought it was cool so we gave him a copy! Kinda cool, you never know who is interested or who needs the gospel! Even the psychics!
- Also one of our friends that came to church lives in a rest home haha and in the middle of sacrament meeting walks out into the hall for like 5 seconds and comes right back. I ask him, "What were you doing?...", confused as to why he left and came right back. He replies super loudly: "I had to fart". I almost snorted so loud right there. It was absolutely golden!

Spiritual thought :
- Okay but on a more spiritual note... I've had a little scripture from my personal studies be a theme for me this week. I'm trying to finish the old testament before I go home but uhhh I'm kind of behind in come follow me because of reading the Book of Mormon so much this year haha. Anyway I read this week about King David and Ornan and how he was trying to give things for David to sacrifice at no cost. To which he replies: "Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without cost". I loved that so much! Most things we do for the Lord require sacrifice, and how much of a sacrifice is it really if it costs nothing? My mission has cost me a lot of things spiritually, socially, emotionally, etc. But I am grateful that I can offer sacrifices that came at a cost to my Savior Jesus Christ. Anyway I hope that helped someone put their struggles in perspective like it did me!

See yaaaa

Lots & lots

Week 81: How far away is that plane?

Ahhhh. It's a weird feeling writing your last weekly about your last week as a missionary. I have had so many mixed emotions this week. ...
