Week 77: My fam is at Disneyland today

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm going to start this email off with a story... Once upon a time I told everyone at the beginning of my mission that I was going to go home a transfer early so that I could go to Disneyland with my family. Haha as if you couldn't already tell, that did not happen. As much #fomo as I have right now lol, honestly there is no place I would rather be. This is my only opportunity to serve the Lord and pretty quickly on my mission I figured out how special this time is. And REALLY I can go to Disneyland any time I want pretty soon, but this is my only time to serve a mission as a young adult. Anyway thanks for listening to my Ted talk, now I'll tell you about my week too I guess:

Things to know :
- Went on exchanges this weekkk! Went with good ol' Sis Lundy and it was so good to be back together :,) Love my Big Baller. Even when she gets me to go on a run.
- Went to our ward trunk or treat for dinner and had some friends come so that was cool and lots of fun! We also had friends come to church too so thats always good
- Also had a Halloween party at our members house for p-day todayyy it was so fun. We carved pumpkins, wore our costumes, and ate good food. Sister Peterson and I dressed up as "Tired" for Halloween. Get it? Because we wore pajamas? And we are wearing Toyota sweatshirts? And we've worked really hard on our missions? Haha or someone said we look like salesman too so whatever floats your boat. Missionaries = salesman.
- We heard a rumor that lunches/gathering during the week were getting banned so we went to Jeffies for a final hurrah hahaha.
- We had mission zone conference on Wednesday and it was pretty good! Even with all the rule changes. Honestly they don't even phase me anymore haha.
- WE HIT 50 BAPTISMS THIS MONTH AS A MISSION (technically 52) which was amazing. President has been trying to get us to have 50 in one month since I started my mission! So it was super cool to have it happen finally. Felt honored to have 3
- My trainer texted me this yesterday: "1 month exactly" It's getting weird haha...
- Found out half the mission is coming to the temple with me on my departing day... not sure how I feel about it but what can you do haha (Its not actually half the mission, just the whole transfer after me). Should be an adventure tho to have like 40 missionaries together in a session haha.

Stories of the week :
- Hahahaha on exchanges we had the weirdest interaction ever. This man named Jason walks out of his house as we are walking by and just as we turn to talk to him he says to Sister Lundell: "Oh my gosh you look exactly like my friend Allison! Are you a Taurus?! Born in April or May?!". And she's like "Uhhh yeah I was born in May" and he's like "Mm yes exactly what I thought. The 20th?". "And she was like "... yeah...". Hahaha what in the psychic reading is going on I told him I was also a Taurus and he said that would make sense because Taurus woman are always beautiful. Haha I was like uhhh anyways creepo. But he turned out to be interested in the gospel actually?!?! Or maybe he just took the book so he could talk to us longer lol. Sometimes I really don't know anymore. But you know what? #everyonedeservesachance! We taught him about the Book of Mormon and modern day prophets and he thought it was cool so we gave him a copy! Kinda cool, you never know who is interested or who needs the gospel! Even the psychics!
- Also one of our friends that came to church lives in a rest home haha and in the middle of sacrament meeting walks out into the hall for like 5 seconds and comes right back. I ask him, "What were you doing?...", confused as to why he left and came right back. He replies super loudly: "I had to fart". I almost snorted so loud right there. It was absolutely golden!

Spiritual thought :
- Okay but on a more spiritual note... I've had a little scripture from my personal studies be a theme for me this week. I'm trying to finish the old testament before I go home but uhhh I'm kind of behind in come follow me because of reading the Book of Mormon so much this year haha. Anyway I read this week about King David and Ornan and how he was trying to give things for David to sacrifice at no cost. To which he replies: "Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings without cost". I loved that so much! Most things we do for the Lord require sacrifice, and how much of a sacrifice is it really if it costs nothing? My mission has cost me a lot of things spiritually, socially, emotionally, etc. But I am grateful that I can offer sacrifices that came at a cost to my Savior Jesus Christ. Anyway I hope that helped someone put their struggles in perspective like it did me!

See yaaaa

Love ya

Lots & lots

(You can still write me!

It'd be a nice late Halloween surprise

Week 76: Ghostbusters

Heyyyy everyone!!! Don't be too surprised that I'm sending this one out on time. (May or may not only be because my mom begged me to haha) This week was SOOO GOOD!!! Ahh. Like so good. So stay tuned!!

Things to know:
- KATEE GOT BAPTIZED!!! It was so special. Her aunt gave the talk on baptism (who I actually just thought was her friends mom when I texted and asked her if she would speak so #inspired) and Katee was in tears the whole time! She got all dressed up cute and was so excited. And her dad baptized her and he hasn't been to church in awhile so that was really tender. Then her whole family came to church when she got the gift of the Holy ghost and it was awesome!! She comes up to me and says "I feel different! Is it good to feel different?!"Haha I love her. I told her yes! I cried when I hugged her and she said she knew I would cry #predictable
- ALSO GOT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE FOR DEANNA AND RUSTY!!! It was so special. Apparently that is my word of the week but really it was so good. Such a spiritual experience, & I also read some amazing scriptures while there & God helped answer some of my questions! #godisgood I am so happy for their decision to go through the temple. They also got me the COOLEST automatic salt and pepper grinders HAHAH (its an inside joke). I accidentally got makeup on Deanna temple clothes when I hugged her super tight in the Celestial room and cried because I was so happy for her and she said "its okay you just always have to leave your mark"!
- I GOT TO SEE MY BABY!!!! Holy cow I missed Sister Skinner so much. It was so happy to be with her and go to the temple with her. May or may not have also cried when I saw her... guess the waterworks were on call this week! All good tears tho ;)
- Also got to see Sis Bowie! It was happy. We stayed the night at her and Sis Jenkins apartment after the temple and it was fun!
- Cleaned out some chicken coops for a member! It was actually fun. Haha.. Now I'm considering getting a farm one day.
- Got my classes figured out for BYU ahhh!
- Saw some cool double rainbows out in the boons right after we drove by snow... Glad it hasn't snowed in Lewiston yet!  It just rains a lot since its pretty warm here.
- Not too much else happened, we had lots of lessons this week and not too much time to find but we still met some cool people! And we had members bring some of their friends to church so thats cool too.

Stories of the week:
- Okay this is the good stuff everyone. This story was CRAZYYY haha. I had always wanted a ghost experience on the mission but never thought I would actually get one. Long story short, this guy we are teaching named Mike tells us he wants to ask our bishop a question and so we are like okay... So we bring him as fellowship for our lesson and meet at the church. He proceeded to tell our bishop that he has an evil spirit in his home and that crazy stuff has been happening for the last couple months, and that he hardly sleeps at night because of it. One of the things he told us is that a crucifix showed up in one if his drawers (he swore he has never owned one in his life!!!) and that it screamed at him and flew against the wall when he picked it up. Whack. So we suggest a blessing or dedication of his house and he asks for both. We grab our elders quorum president from the other room and head over to Mike's house. He apologized for dragging us into this but I was HYPED! I was about experience something out of a movie!!!  Was a little nervous, but actually it was kind of anticlimactic. Nothing super spooky happened which is probably a good thing so I don't have nightmares or something lol. BUT I will say something was definitely off in that house. The spirit immediately left my body when we walked in and my ears were ringing the whole time. It was eerily quiet in there, like way too quiet. His dog was barking outside literally the WHOLE time until he finished getting the blessing and we dedicated the house. As soon as they finished the dedicatory (is that a word?) prayer, the spirit filled my body again and my ears stopped ringing! Mike texted us the next day and said there was a noticeable energy shift, and that he now has a new understanding of the power of the priesthood!!! So cool! Really hoping this will turn everything around for him. Anyway sorry this was long, but it was epic. And I love the priesthood. The end :))

Spiritual thought:
- So like I said earlier I faith flipped to some cool scriptures while I was in the temple and God answered some of my questions. I wanted to share one of them because I feel it is okay to share. I asked God how to know if He is proud of my efforts, and right after that I opened up EXACTLY to these verses in D&C 126:1-3:

" Dear and well-beloved brother, Brigham Young, (Pretend it says Sister Dickson) verily thus saith the Lord unto you: My servant Brigham, it is no more required at your hand to leave your family as in times past, for your offering is acceptable to me.
I have seen your labor and toil in journeyings for my name.
I therefore command you to send my word abroad, and take especial care of your family from this time, henceforth and forever. Amen "

Ahh I could have cried right then and there. I am so glad for the service I get to continue to give for the next 5 weeks, and then that I will get to take 'especial care of my family'.

Love you all!

You can always send me more letters

And I will do my best to send one back

Week 75: Pretty Gnatsty

Yo yo everyone! My mom is sending this out yet again because I'll just be honest. I'm getting really tired of writing these after such a long time so I just keep procrastinating them until the end of pday.

Anyway! This was a super solid week. Sis Petey is a beast and Lewiston is the promised land as always. Except that there are gnats. EVERYWHERE. It was like this last year in Spokane in the fall but I swear there are literally so many here because its still so warm... So yeah its pretty gnatsty out here.

Things to know:
- REECE GOT BAPTIZED!!! It was so amazing. Her "not boyfriend"  flew up from Twin Falls just to baptize her and he starts his mission today. It was precious. It was lowkey stressful bc I basically had to plan the baptism myself haha.  We have like no coordination in the branch and it was transfers so Sis Mac was gonzo but I think it ended up okay.
- So yeah had to say bye to Sis Mac and I was #sad but its okay. I'll see her again someday. Said bye to a bunch of other friends that I probably won't see again for a fat minute either, so I'm playin #godbewithyoutilwemeetagain until then!
- Was in a little trio for a second until Hermana Wright got her trainee and that was lots of fun! She is a good sister :))
- Hit my 17 months..... AHHHH. So weird
- We moved our friend Brenas date to November 12th!!! She has work on Sundays so she hasn't been able to come to church yet, but she really wants to. So pray that she can get work off.
- I get to go to the temple this week for a convert in North named Deanna (only my favorite human in the entire universe) and I could not me more excited!!! And I'll get to see Sister Skinner who I literally have not seen in 6 months!!! Ahhh I cannot wait.
- Also Katee's baptism is this Saturday and I am soooo excited for her! Pray that everything will go well for it please.
- This one is literally just for my parents and Sis Mac: I ATE A WHOLE SAUSAGE THIS WEEK. A whole one. All by myself. No complaints too (at least outwardly). That's all. Haha I absolutely hate sausage.

Stories of the week:
- So here's the setting: We were at lunch in the boonies. At this tiny lil restaurant in Lapwai and we are the only customers. A tumbleweed rolls across the floor. Jk. But really. I'm in the middle of eating my delicious sandwich and this woman comes over (from where ??? I don't know) and says "I used to meet with the missionaries" and we were like "Oh thats pretty cool. Want to meet with them again?". Long story short she  said yes #miraclesinthebooniesyoualreadyknow
- Also we met with the COOLEST referral this week!!! We go and teach her about the resto and she was so pumped during the lesson. Like not even kidding. She adds in "woah" or "that's awesome!" like every other word and then we gave her the Book of Mormon and she says "I'M SO EXCITED TO READ THIS". I have never met anyone so enthusiastic about reading the Book of Mormon. So yeah she's the coolest.

Spiritual thought:
- I'm so bad at these nowadays. Probably because I procrastinate my emails. Anywho. Currently reading the Index for the Book of Mormon and marking the names for Christ because why not?! Don't know if it's just because I want to be able to say I've read every single page of the Book of Mormon or to see how many pages talk of Christ. Either way, I'm feeling pretty stoked. I guess I'm officially a missionary if I'm stoked about reading the Index of the Book of Mormon Haha. But seriously. This Book has helped me more times than I can count on one hand. Please pick it up if you haven't in awhile, it's really good.

Love youuuu alllllll sooooo muchhhh

Thanks for all the letters

I'm never opposed to more

Week 74: Last in Lewi

Aight sorry this one isn't too crazy or very long, but it was such a good week!!!

Things to know:
- Sooo yeah we got transfer news and IM DYING IN LEWI BABY!!! (Sorry President I know you don't like when we say that) I am so hyped to be 6 monthing it honestly. This is the best area ever. So much fruit! And all of my favorite members too
- My last comp is Sister Peterson!!! I've always wanted to serve around her, she is a cute, sweet, and gentle giant! Haha! She is like 6'1 pretty sure. But I already know it's going to be a party last transfer together!
- Got my flight plans today
Literally so weird haha. Can't believe I'm starting my last transfer. Time is not real!
- Reece is getting baptized Friday and I am so excited!! Her boyfriend is flying out just to baptize her so thats pretty sweet. They came to the YSA activity this week and we played ultimate spoons haha it was great. #yellowteamforthewin

Stories of the week:
- Went on exchanges with Sister Foote and it was so awesome! We put two of their friends on date for baptism. AND we had a pass off with the elders for this cool friend in the YSA named Brena and she is on date for October 29th!! So many miracles! God is good my friends!

Spiritual thought:
- Ummm I don't even know anymore. I finished the Book of Mormon for the 5th time on my mission this week and lemme just say it gets truer and truer every time! Not sure how that actually works lol but really, my testimony is strengthened every time I read it!!! No one can ever convince me that book is not the word of God. Not even the drunk man that anti-ed us in Lapwai this week lol. Read the Book of Mormon! God will answer all of your questions! I promise you that!! Amen

LOVE YOU ALL

Week 81: How far away is that plane?

Ahhhh. It's a weird feeling writing your last weekly about your last week as a missionary. I have had so many mixed emotions this week. ...
