Week 76: Ghostbusters

Heyyyy everyone!!! Don't be too surprised that I'm sending this one out on time. (May or may not only be because my mom begged me to haha) This week was SOOO GOOD!!! Ahh. Like so good. So stay tuned!!

Things to know:
- KATEE GOT BAPTIZED!!! It was so special. Her aunt gave the talk on baptism (who I actually just thought was her friends mom when I texted and asked her if she would speak so #inspired) and Katee was in tears the whole time! She got all dressed up cute and was so excited. And her dad baptized her and he hasn't been to church in awhile so that was really tender. Then her whole family came to church when she got the gift of the Holy ghost and it was awesome!! She comes up to me and says "I feel different! Is it good to feel different?!"Haha I love her. I told her yes! I cried when I hugged her and she said she knew I would cry #predictable
- ALSO GOT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE FOR DEANNA AND RUSTY!!! It was so special. Apparently that is my word of the week but really it was so good. Such a spiritual experience, & I also read some amazing scriptures while there & God helped answer some of my questions! #godisgood I am so happy for their decision to go through the temple. They also got me the COOLEST automatic salt and pepper grinders HAHAH (its an inside joke). I accidentally got makeup on Deanna temple clothes when I hugged her super tight in the Celestial room and cried because I was so happy for her and she said "its okay you just always have to leave your mark"!
- I GOT TO SEE MY BABY!!!! Holy cow I missed Sister Skinner so much. It was so happy to be with her and go to the temple with her. May or may not have also cried when I saw her... guess the waterworks were on call this week! All good tears tho ;)
- Also got to see Sis Bowie! It was happy. We stayed the night at her and Sis Jenkins apartment after the temple and it was fun!
- Cleaned out some chicken coops for a member! It was actually fun. Haha.. Now I'm considering getting a farm one day.
- Got my classes figured out for BYU ahhh!
- Saw some cool double rainbows out in the boons right after we drove by snow... Glad it hasn't snowed in Lewiston yet!  It just rains a lot since its pretty warm here.
- Not too much else happened, we had lots of lessons this week and not too much time to find but we still met some cool people! And we had members bring some of their friends to church so thats cool too.

Stories of the week:
- Okay this is the good stuff everyone. This story was CRAZYYY haha. I had always wanted a ghost experience on the mission but never thought I would actually get one. Long story short, this guy we are teaching named Mike tells us he wants to ask our bishop a question and so we are like okay... So we bring him as fellowship for our lesson and meet at the church. He proceeded to tell our bishop that he has an evil spirit in his home and that crazy stuff has been happening for the last couple months, and that he hardly sleeps at night because of it. One of the things he told us is that a crucifix showed up in one if his drawers (he swore he has never owned one in his life!!!) and that it screamed at him and flew against the wall when he picked it up. Whack. So we suggest a blessing or dedication of his house and he asks for both. We grab our elders quorum president from the other room and head over to Mike's house. He apologized for dragging us into this but I was HYPED! I was about experience something out of a movie!!!  Was a little nervous, but actually it was kind of anticlimactic. Nothing super spooky happened which is probably a good thing so I don't have nightmares or something lol. BUT I will say something was definitely off in that house. The spirit immediately left my body when we walked in and my ears were ringing the whole time. It was eerily quiet in there, like way too quiet. His dog was barking outside literally the WHOLE time until he finished getting the blessing and we dedicated the house. As soon as they finished the dedicatory (is that a word?) prayer, the spirit filled my body again and my ears stopped ringing! Mike texted us the next day and said there was a noticeable energy shift, and that he now has a new understanding of the power of the priesthood!!! So cool! Really hoping this will turn everything around for him. Anyway sorry this was long, but it was epic. And I love the priesthood. The end :))

Spiritual thought:
- So like I said earlier I faith flipped to some cool scriptures while I was in the temple and God answered some of my questions. I wanted to share one of them because I feel it is okay to share. I asked God how to know if He is proud of my efforts, and right after that I opened up EXACTLY to these verses in D&C 126:1-3:

" Dear and well-beloved brother, Brigham Young, (Pretend it says Sister Dickson) verily thus saith the Lord unto you: My servant Brigham, it is no more required at your hand to leave your family as in times past, for your offering is acceptable to me.
I have seen your labor and toil in journeyings for my name.
I therefore command you to send my word abroad, and take especial care of your family from this time, henceforth and forever. Amen "

Ahh I could have cried right then and there. I am so glad for the service I get to continue to give for the next 5 weeks, and then that I will get to take 'especial care of my family'.

Love you all!

You can always send me more letters

And I will do my best to send one back

Week 81: How far away is that plane?

Ahhhh. It's a weird feeling writing your last weekly about your last week as a missionary. I have had so many mixed emotions this week. ...
