Week 46: Motherhood!

What's poppin everyone! Hope life is awesome. If it's not, lmk how I can pray for you. Here's the good ol update:

Things to know:
-PRESIDENT UN-BLACKDOTTED ME AND I CAN DRIVE AGAIN!!! GOD IS REAL PEOPLE
-Said see ya to Sister Asay :,) Miss you already, have fun in Sandpoint friend
-Partied in a trio with my best friends. Had wayy too much fun for a couple days
-Picked up my BABY on Thursday! So much fun. Kinda crazy because I had a dream she had brown hair and then boom! I knew she was mine as soon as I saw her.
-Alma came to church this week! She loved it, and she even leaned over to one of our members and asked how old her boys had to be to pass the Sacrament. Praying for some baptisms for the boys soon! :))

Stories of the week:
-Not really a story, but just had to have a proud parent moment. My trainee is literally such a baller and I'm pretty sure she is training me. She has already jumped right into the work and is such a fast learner. I'm amazed by her every single day. We get along super well and I feel so blessed to have Sister Skinner <3
-Okay so this one is crazy haha. When I was in a trio with Sister Allen and Sister Bird we go talk to this man. We start talking to him about being forgiven by Jesus Christ, and he says to us: "I have something that I've never told anyone"... All I'm going to say is that he may or may not have confessed his murder to us...We sat there for a solid 20 seconds in silence because we had no idea what to say hahahaha. Luckily it was actually just in self defense, but still so crazy. Spokane be wildin.

Spiritual thought:
My spiritual thought is on humility this week! I made a goal to work on humility this transfer, and haha the Lord has definitely been giving me opportunities to humble myself. My sweet great grandma passed away this week, and I think if it had happened any earlier in my mission I wouldn't have been secure enough in my testimony to know that I would be okay. I know that my grandma Mimi got to have some sweet reunions with my grandpa and great grandpa. I felt very comforted to know that I have a strong guardian angel watching over me now too :,) I know that the Lord never gives us more than we can handle, and He will strengthen us (and even carry us) through the times that seem unbearable. I am grateful the Lord gave me this opportunity to deepen my trust and reliance on Him. Forever grateful for the Plan of Salvation too.

Praying for you all

(or at least trying to ha, there's a lot of u)

Love you

Week 45: My firstborn in the wilderness

Hey everyone! This was a fun last week of the transfer, and we got transfer news that Sister Asay is leaving the area. For anyone who remembers how much I usually get transferred, just wanted to say it feels amazing to stay for once. Lol. Honestly saddy that the dynamic duo is splitting up tho, but I am hyped for this next transfer because...

- Yep. I received the greatest call this week. I GET TO BE A MOTHER!!!!! I prayed this entire last transfer that I would get to train and God is too good. I am SO EXCITED! After 10 months of being pregnant, my baby is coming! I don't get to meet her until Thursday tho so ya'll will have to stay tuned to get to see what she looks like!
- Also found out my MTC comp is coming to live with us and I have been praying for the day we got to serve around each other since the start of my mission, so you could say I'm pretty stoked to party w Sis. Bird.
- Carlane & Collin came to church and said they really enjoyed it! Charles & Alma's boys came too, for a total of 6 friends at church!
- Sister Asay & I did like 4 hours of finding in the boons of our area one day and it was so. much. fun! And we got good pictures!
- We sadly had a lot of our friends drop us, or we had to drop them this week. But the field is white all READY to harvest. So let's get harvesting. Yessir gonna be on the find grind with my child.
- Also said see ya to my good friend Wimdog this week because she goes back home :,)

Stories of the week:
- For anyone that has served in North & knows who Janice Swaggerty is, ya'll will appreciate this story. Our apartment went to her house for service and we helped her clean out her goat pens. I loaded at least 20 wheelbarrows of goat crap onto a trailer, and lemme tell ya it smelled NARSTY. Besides the insides of my nose being scarred permanently from the ammonia, it was a pretty fun service. It was a good workout as I daydreamed about the life on a farm that I will never ever have. I could not tell you the amount of times I violently gagged during that service tho, and we get to do it again on Wednesday so hope you're excited Sister Bird.
- Cool lil spiritual experience: At the very end of last transfer I had a dream I got called to be a trainer, and no kizzy my exact dream came true. I even dreamt where I was sitting when I got the call and the day the call happened, and it all was right. I seriously never remember my dreams, so this was pretty cool to have a sort of vision of the future! Funny sidenote, my trainee has to drive since I am a wanted fugitive in this mission and am not allowed to drive:)

Spiritual Thought:
I started to stress about the responsibility of training once it hit me that this was actually going to happen. I was praying to God for guidance and I ended up reading in D&C 24 and it was exactly what I needed to hear! Verse 12 says:

"And at all times, and in all places, he shall open his mouth and declare my gospel as with the voice of a trump, both day and night. And I will give unto him strength such as is not known among men"

I loved this so much. It helped me see that no matter what responsibility I have, my purpose is the same. And as I devote my time to declaring the gospel with everything inside of me, I will receive everything I need! I will have the strength to fulfill my calling, and I will know that the spirit is guiding me. I am so thankful God trusts me enough to teach a brand new missionary, and can't wait for all I will learn.

Enjoy your week

Week 44: Feelin refreshed!

Ahhh what an amazing week!! I wish I could relive it. Here's how it went down:

Things to know:
- Terrie got BAPTIZED! So happy for her. We said "Terrie how do you feel?!" after she came up out of the water and she said "Refreshed!". New favorite word. She is such a rockstar. She had a stroke a couple months ago and still walked right down into the font!
- Went on exchanges with my favorite, Sis Wimmer :) While on exchanges my phone decided to not make calls anymore so we went to the church to use the landline. So swag. Not so swag: probably have to get a new phone.
- Got to make some random phone calls because other missionaries phones broke too... Hey Elder Rockwood hahah
- We sadly stopped teaching Ken and Maggie because they said they aren't ready to give up their vices :'(
- Got to see my favorite AP's this week! Elder Stevens asked me if I'm excited to train... don't know if it's a prank or not so stay tuned for transfer calls next week.
- Also hit my 10 months this week. Someone please tell me how to stop time.

Stories of the week:
- Pretty much already told the short versions of all my memorable moments this week, but we had a good laugh after Terrie got confirmed in church yesterday. She tried to leave to go to the bathroom but she hadn't been sustained by the ward yet hahah so our member tried to grab her as she is about to walk out the door. She stops and everyone raises their hands to sustain and then she turns around and says "Oh yeah me too" and raises her hand hahah. I love Terrie.

Spiritual Thought:
This week I was thinking a lot about the Atonement. Someone shared in church yesterday, "The Atonement is a gift, not a punishment" and how we should be treating it as such. Christ has already forgiven us, all we must do is turn to Him and change. In the scriptures He always said first thing to those He healed, that they were forgiven of their sins. He is so ready to forgive us, we just have to use His gift! So how will you use His precious gift this week?

They also shared one more thought I wanted to add for anyone who needs to hear it. "We don't need to earn value in this life, we brought it with us from before". I loved that! We aren't here to prove our worth, or earn His forgiveness. He has already given it to us, and we are divine children of God. You are worth everything to Him, and He already paid the price that is worth your value.

LOVE YA

Week 43: Get screamed at

Heyoo this was a good week! Hope everyone can say the same. I know I say this all the time, but man time is flying by. I've been a missionary for exactly 300 days now. But who's counting?! Anyway:

Things to know:
- Our friend Terry is getting baptized this Saturday!! She is on track for it and so excited, and so are we
- Maggie quit smoking!!! She gave up her cigarettes which is a huge step, so please pray she will be able to stay clean for March 19th (Ken will not be getting baptized with her sadly, he is not on track)
- Had exchanges with Sister Evans and it was legit. She is so awesome! Ngl I came out with a group of the most baller sisters
- We had 6 friends come to church! I was so happy because we have been struggling to get people to come to church lol
- If anyone remembers my dear friend Michelle (she is an inactive member I met the last time I was in North), we started teaching her 19 year old son this week! She has been progressing super well and when her son (Skyler) showed interest she said how excited she was to share the gospel with him! So happy :))

Stories of the week:
- One of our new friends Suzy came to church this week. We knocked her door this last week and at first she wasn't interested, but then she opened up about how she has no joy in her life. We testified of the joy Jesus Christ and His gospel have brought us, and told her that this is what she has been missing. After our first lesson with her she said "Where was this 10 years ago?!". She is so amazing!
- Oh yeah so yesterday was the first time I've ever gotten screamed at haha. I didn't realize other missionaries get cussed out on the regular?! Because I was honestly just so caught off guard that I started crying lol. She was mad we knocked on her door 3 times at that time of day (it was only 5 pm on a Sunday ha) and told us some very not nice things. We told her to have a nice day in reply, and she slammed the door and told us to get some *beep* manners. Kinda ironic if you ask me... Some guy was doordashing a couple doors down and said "Dang some people are awful to ya'll. Hope ya'll have a good day". I hope it was inspired for the lady to yell at us so that mans will be curious about the gospel now haha. Anyway I probably sound like a baby haha but I was just not prepared for that. I think I was also tired lol. Mad respect to all the Elders because I'm pretty sure they get yelled at a lot more often than sisters do.

Spiritual thought:
This week I learned a lot of lessons on God's timing and His will. If it is according to His will, it will happen! We just have to be willing to trust Him. Here are some good quotes about trusting that stuck with me:

"God won't lead you, to leave you"

"Trust in Him, even if His answer is to wait"

"What if = fear/
  Even if = faith"

God knows all, and He knows exactly what you need.

That's all. Life is good

Luv ya

Week 81: How far away is that plane?

Ahhhh. It's a weird feeling writing your last weekly about your last week as a missionary. I have had so many mixed emotions this week. ...
